More good news for procrastinators and class action skeptics. The 8/30/24 deadline to register your practice to receive a tiny percentage of a whopping $5.6 billion settlement related to merchant fees paid between 1/1/2004 and 1/25/2019 has been extended by 180 days to 2/4/25.
You can opt into the settlement by clicking on the Submit a Claim link and then either entering the Claimant ID and Control Number included on a postcard your practice should have received last fall, or following the steps to register by clicking on the Provide TIN (Taxpayer Identification Number) link. If you misplaced that postcard and plan to register using the practice TIN instead, please be prepared to provide additional information as follows per the instructions available on the website:
Please upload any documentation to show that you have authority to act on behalf of the business or entity associated with the TIN you are registering. Some examples of documentation you may upload include a certificate of incorporation or dissolution from your secretary of state, a merchant statement or bank statement, a form W-9, or a utility bill. The documentation you provide need not be from the class period.
We can help you opt into this $5.6 Billion settlement for your practice. Simply email a copy of a merchant statement, bank statement or utility bill that reflects the name of your practice to practicehelp@schwartzaccountants.com. Our fee to assist with this class action settlement opportunity is one-third of the settlement your practice receives.
